This is a view most tourists don't see, along the "outside" of Cannery Row, the buildings backed up against Monterey Bay. Cannery Row is street in Monterey, California where a number of now-defunct sardine canning factories stood. The last cannery closed in 1973. Now, the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium is at one end of the row (far end of this shot) which is now comprised of shops, restaurants and hotels. Think of this as Cannery Row from the outside. I had to climb around the under the Fish Hopper restaurant, between the stilts holding up the restaurant, past the no entry sign (of course) to get this shot. I got soaked in the process but the camera survived so I think it was worth it.
